Welcome, Brice Lalonde!

Saving Our Planet is honored to welcome a new Honorary Member, Brice Lalonde.

Brice Lalonde was French Minister for the Environment from 1988 to 1992. He founded the environmental party “Ecology Generation,” which he headed from 1992 to 2002. Brice Lalonde served as French Ambassador for Climate Change Negociations from 2007 to 2011, and was Executive Coordinator of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in 2012. He now presides the NGO EdEN (Équilibre des Énergies) which promotes low-carbon energy in France and Europe.

On the subject of energy, Brice Lalonde has pointed out that nuclear power is a natural part of the energy mix because it produces electricity, and electricity is the link between buildings, mobility and carbon-free power generation. See his talk here.
